An INTRODUCTION

So many of us are searching for meaning in life, trying to glean why we are here. The struggle to nail down our purpose is real. The process of finding it has become so stressful. We turn to gimmicks and gadgets, spend money and mimic friends and the journey is still difficult. We spend countless years of our lives seeking purpose. For the people who live it, it’s much simpler than that.

As a journalist, I have spent decades telling stories of tragedy and triumphs, listening to victims and victors. Everyday meeting people who wore the armor of heroes and heroines, people who are making the impossible possible.

I wanted to know how they were doing it, what made them special and what they knew that the rest of the world didn’t. You’ll meet some of the women in the chapters of this book.

They bare their souls and share secrets of their calling, their purpose.

“I believe women are wonders of the world.”

We don invisible capes. Yet, we forget our powers, our gifts. We get lost in other people’s opinions and beliefs. Women are capable of making what may seem impossible, possible. It’s as simple as believing in yourself and finding others to cheer you on. My hope is that, in reading this book, you will hear something and you will feel something in the soul-stirring stories of women who reveal their vulnerabilities and their courage. In this book, I hope to instill in you the passion and excitement that I felt while hearing stories of so many women who once stumbled and fell or were battered and bruised but are now living on purpose. Ultimately, I want you to see this book as a tool to help you unearth your own purpose and live it every day. Stirring the Pot is a nonfiction book that speaks to women of all ages who want to wake up from their daily grind, get unstuck, and find joy and meaning in their lives.
